To get rid of the vines you need to dig them out making sure to get the roots otherwise they will return.

I pull up the vines. I found out that I am violently allergic to poison oak or sumac so don’t do it all in one day to check for allergies.I have too many trees for lush lawn. There is a pellet that you sprinkle on the ground and water it in. It kills the pupa phase of bugs. Ask at your lawn and garden department at a feed store or Walmart

There are insect sprays and granules. You can put up a bird feeder to attract birds that will eat bugs too. Getting rid of vines is difficult. We had neighbor's vine roots growing into our yard. You can trying digging out the roots and/or applying a "ground clear" weed and grass killer to them.

Insects are beneficial to life. Some songbirds feed exclusively on them. Other creatures eat them, too. They are part of life. You cannot have the good parts of nature if you use poisons. Please learn to live with and enjoy nature as it is. Before we don't have it anymore.
