How to know if there is an issue with the drain pipes in your house?

We have been in our house ten years with no issues with the drains. We have had 2 different stopped up toilets in two weeks. A plunger cleared the problem but 2X sudedenly after 10 years with no probems before is concerning. We bought new and it is on a slab.Should we be concerned or consider it a fluke? Only way to know for sure is putting a camera down but I do not want to go to the expense if not necessary

I agree with Jessica. Probably just a fluke. Things change over time Could be different toilet paper. More or less usage. Just keep an eye on it.

I had the same problem with my bathroom sink. I went on Amazon, not wanting to pay a plumber, and bought an Endoscope, which is a long drain snake with a camera at the end that lets you see what is happening inside your pipes. It projects a video onto your smart phone so you can see the progress. It can even take still pictures that you can save on your smart phone. To find these items I typed in the search on Amazon "drain snake with camera" Mine cost about $ 35.00. You can also use it to see anywhere that your eye can't see, like under the house, between the walls, etc. When it came it was small and I didn't think it would work but it did. They even make extensions so you can see deeper in the drain. The camera has a light on it so the video or still picture will light the way. Good luck!

I ordered the KinCam which is 16.5'. They lowered the price. I just looked up my order and now it is $20.99.. You do use in connection with a smartphone.
