How do I choose a backsplash and paint for my kitchen?

What are you looking for do? Add a new backsplash? Or are you wanting to clean the backsplash?

Add new backsplash and new paint. Not sure what color or type to use

I love this look and it won't kill the bank. you only need to buy the paint, 1 quart, 1 stencil and 1 quart of sealer. And a easy weekend job!

Beautiful kitchen. Keep in mind that whatever you choose that is the "buzz" right now will be outdated by the time you get finished! LOL

Everyone went crazy for Grey and now it is the "out of favor" color. The colors you choose depends on your taste and your budget. No matter what you choose, go for ease of cleaning instead of just pretty...after all, the kitchen is always a messy place.

With the so much white, I would tend to go for some color, maybe in the paint for the walls (you can always change it) and use something like cooper sheeting or ceiling tiles for a back splash. You can "weather" the cooper if you want that look.

You currently have neutral with white and beige. Take a sample of the granite to a tile store to shop for backsplash tiles you love. Then, choose a coordinating or contrasting color for paint - again use what you LOVE! It's your kitchen and should be as you like it, not me.

Don't choose something someone else likes. Pick what YOU like. You have to live with it. Go to some stores. Look at everything. Look on Pinterest. Look online. Take your time. Don't be in a hurry to just DO something.

I wouldn't change a thing. Bring in color and character with countertop appliances or decor and perhaps those words of wisdom decals on the soffit. I like your neutral palette and it works so easily with change of season decor.

HOW do you choose? That answer is pretty easy: what's the budget, how DIY are you and what makes you smile? Starting with the smile, your kitchen should be a place where you're happy. Choose colors that lift your spirit. If you aren't limited by how 'handy' you are, then skip to budget. What type of back splash can you afford? Remember that tile will be pretty permanent - other materials, not so much. If tile is too much to consider, then there are still many options: paint, paint patterns, peel and stick materials - on and on. My criteria for kitchen back splash is: how easily does it clean and how much work will I have to do when I don't love it anymore?Also, does the kitchen connect to another room that has a dominant color? Then choose colors and textures that compliment that room - or you can go with a theme that you like. Boho, southwest, country, modern, culinary... you started with neutral and that was the BEST choice to make for the bones of your kitchen. Now, have fun and enjoy!

You have a great start. I love that your countertops are the same color tones as you floor. If you are doing tile I would keep it neutral. Paint last. Paint comes in any color so get all your decorative accessories, window treatments etc. first. It's usually a good idea to bring one main color through your house, so some of it in each room. It might be the main color in one and the accent color in an adjoining room. Any color would look good so just go shop!

I love the variety of cabinets you chose and the white appliances. I would go with an insulated metallic, like lightweight copper with a cardboard and wire backing. Take a pic of kitchen and room adjoining kitchen ,Home Depot will help you with right tile for budget. They can help with paint too . You don,t want kitchen to look like it belongs some where else. Years ago I did drapes and blinds always used a color theme and went from one room to the next in that color family.
