How to cover a stained lampshade?

Stain would be hard to control as the fabric would suck it up like a sponge and stain can also be flammable...not good near a light bulb. A fabric paint would be better.... You can control it and it is water based. Stay away from any oil based paint take or stains near a heat or light source.
