Add 1/3 plaster of paris to 1 cup of latex paint and 1 cup cool water. Stir well. THis will cover a 6 drawer dresser one time. Finish with a couple coats of a urethane for protection. This will cover a 6 drawer dresser one time. Do not try to save left over chalk paint as it does not keep
My favorite recipe uses calcium carbonate powder mixed with water and then mixed into regular latex paint.
You can also use baking soda or plaster of paris instead of calcium carbonate powder.

Hi Karen, here is a great recipe, Mix your cup of paint and 1/4 cup of baking soda together. It will create a very thick chalk paint that will give you a beautiful matte finish and lots of pretty texture! Apply the baking soda and paint mixture to your vase and let dry for a few min until slightly tacky.
Mix 1 cup of paint with 1/3 cup of cool water and 1/3 cup of plaster of Paris. Stir until smooth, and you've got your own chalk-finish paint.
