Is there a way to fix a frayed lift cord?

Minor frays can be saved with clear packing tape. Try to avoid buying the ones with a brass wheel, that is the reason its frayed.
My dad used to singe cords with a match to keep them from fraying. Also you can buy "non fray" liquids where sewing supplies are sold to stop material from fraying, this might work too. Hope this helps Terri.
what do you mean by lift(elevator?) what is it lifting? because if it's alot of weight it needs completely replaced not repaired for safety reasons
