  • Place it on the blank wall. The way my bedroom is designed there is only one "logical" wall to place the bed. I could have placed in the middle of the wall with the window, but it would chop the room into 3 sections and just didn't look right to me and was not conducive to strategic furniture placement.

If the room is empty, take a roll of painters tape and try different layouts in the room on the floor according to the measurements of the furniture you intend to place in the room.

I have 2 windows on the same wall so I put my queen size bed between the windows. My long dresser is on the longest wall and my husband bureau is on the shorter wall across from the bed. We also have a tv mounted on the wall above the bureau. I have a wooden rocker on one side of the bureau and a cheval mirror on the other side of the bureau. We also have a nightstand in front of each window. The flow of the room is great and we can walk around everything without scorching by. Hope this helps.

I'm with Naomie (above) about the tape idea. Measure the bed length from the long wall and place a piece of tape at that point. Measure twice and be precise! Now, do you have enough room to walk and open the closet door?

If i place the bed on the blank wall next to the window wall there will be 3 feet clearance to wall directly across from it

if i out a 17” deep dresser there that would leave 19 “ between bed and dresser does that seem to close

Ok i think instead of putting dresser in front of bed I can get a slim tv stand to go there and put dresser on the wall next to door

    thanks for your help!

You have a small room for a queen sized bed. I would be tempted to put it against the wall, even if it was under a window. For example the head in the corner and the bed along the wall under the window. Hope this helps.

Oh this is a tight space for a Queen bed. Does the door to the bedroom open into the room or away from the room.? If it presently opens into the room, take it off and remount it the reverse way so that it opens away from the room. This will give you a couple of extra feet of ' walking space' inside the bedroom, and may facilitate positioning of the bed.

If the closet doors take up any floor space when opening and closing, take them off, remount with flat sliding doors, or just leave them off instead.
