We add 1/3 cup plaster of paris to 1 cup cool water and mix well. Then add 1 cup latex paint and mix. Do not save chalk paint as it does not keep. This is good for a 6 drawer dresser. It is fun to use.

Make Your Own Chalk Paint Recipe
My favorite recipe is flat latex paint, with a mixture of calcium carbonate powder and water.
You can also use plaster of paris mixed with water and then added to flat latex paint.

Hi Paula, here is a quick recipe for you,
Mix your cup of paint and 1/4 cup of baking soda together. It will create a very thick chalk paint that will give you a beautiful matte finish and lots of pretty texture! Apply the baking soda and paint mixture to your vase and let dry for a few min until slightly tacky.
Mix 1 cup of paint with 1/3 cup of cool water and 1/3 cup of plaster of Paris. Stir until smooth, and you've got your own chalk-finish paint.
