Call your uncle and have him take your ant on vacation. Seriously, ants are attracted to water and food. I have heard that borax helps kill them. I had to put all food into sealed containers when I lived near Miami and had a trail of tiny ants from window, up the wall, across the ceiling, and down into my cereal storage cabinet.

Local pest control people are good at eliminating the problem and determining the source of the ants. They can do it quickly and for less than $100.

Inside or out? Inside, diatomaceous earth is safe & will get rid of them. Outside, I poke a hole in the middle of the bed and pour boiling water down it.

myo ant bait....equal parts borax and sugar. mix well. I make up a larger batch and use a funnel to put it at the base of my house foundation. you can add water and dunk cotton balls into the solution for inside use.
