How do I get rid of excessive puddles/ponding in my front yard?

    Hi Andrea,


    It sounds like the ground in your front yard has settled over time and created high and low areas usually based on the density and contents of the soil and water table. The yard probably needs landscaping or re-landscaping to restore a slope where the water drains away from your foundation to the street at a consistent angle.

    You might also want to check out your gutters and downspout to see if they are adding to the problem.

    You might need to reslope the yard and / or put in a french drain to remove excess water from the yard.

    Sounds like a great place for a bag of topsoil, manure or concrete.
