I would like to know how to add an attached shelf to my old TV stand so I can put my Gemini on it.

I would not recommend this without seeing the item. Mainly per the Bearing of weight. All Shelving just like drawers, needs a Frame per each Shelf. And Supports Upright per each frame. If it does not have those You may end up going through alot of work and expense just to end up deconstructing the entire after Damage and/or Fall to Construct something more Permanent.
