Is there a yellow flower that will work well in an eastern exposure?
My front bed faces east and the soil tends to be wet and a heavy sand/clay mix. I want bright yellow bedding flowers in addition to the yellow pansies that fizzle out when the summer heat comes.

marigolds survive almost any weather and any soil. they come in short and tall varieties. there are all yellow and also the orange mix
I agree with Mary Lu. Marigolds are very easy. Also you may want to look into Wildflower Mixes with Daisies but also Sunflowers. Other Fine Yellow plants are Tulips and Hyacinths
I would go with Daylilies, a variety like Happy Returns. They are bright, cheery, easy to grow and they will come back every year and get bigger and better. You might also consider adding some compost to the soil to help amend it and make it more plant friendly. Good luck!
