The previous owners used stones to prevent weeds. I tried digging the area up but all I do is run in to stones. The stones are driving me crazy. Help

  • It is a lot of work! It takes a lot of labor and hauling. I've had to do it too! Now I prefer no landscape fabric, and only bark mulch so that nothing permanent is getting in the way.

Sorry, just got to keep plugging away at it. Some stones in the soil adds good drainage.

If the stones are on the surface, put an ad on craigslist or some other forum like it and say free stones, come and get them! Put a couple pictures of them and hopefully someone will want the stones and be willing to do the labor to get them for free. Those stones can be expensive so, free might be worth the time and work of digging them up.

rent yourself small bobcat for an hour best thing you'll ever do; you can use it to move the bags and bags of topsoil you'll be trying to move to fill area back in after removing all the gravel
