No way fast unless you hire someone. Move your furniture if possible. Cover it if not. Cover floor in protective plastic. Wear something to cover your hair like a shower cap. Saturate with warm water, let sit, and scrape. I tried all the "gimmicks" and none worked any better than warm water, just cost more. I have seen an attachment you can get to scrape and suck into a shop vac so you might want to check for one of those. Also, you might want to get a bench to stand on.

  • You'll need to cover your furniture with plastic sheeting. That would be the easiest way to avoid ruining it. Here are some other tips: https://www.familyhandyman.com/drywall/ceiling-texture/how-to-remove-a-popcorn-ceiling/view-all/

You'll definitely need to at least cover your furniture. There's no way around the mess that comes from doing this type of project.

In terms of how to remove the popcorn texture:

My husband and I did this when we moved in a few years ago. We filled a spray mop (one that had a soft, washable pad) with a mixture of warm water and dish soap and sprayed the ceiling enough to loosen the popcorn texture. We then "mopped" away the texture and dried the ceiling underneath with microfibre cloths. We worked in small sections, and once all of the texture was gone and everything had dried out, we added a couple coats of fresh, white ceiling paint.
