How do I fix the enamel surface in a bathtub?

I’ve tried buying enamel bathtub paint and repainting. It didn’t last. Any ideas or will I have to buy a new tub?

You'll have to buy new. Applied finishes don't hold up.

  • I had my porcelain tub professionally reglazed back in 2007. Looks brand new. I chose reglazing or replacing at that time just based on cost. At that time it was less than $500 to reglaze and minimum to replace the tub was thousands.

Hello Jami. I have never painted a bath tub, but I read about them here on Home Talk. Not too many good reviews. A lot of people choose to send them out to be re-glazed. Many good reviews after that. Good luck Jami.
