What should I do to make the area around the chicken coop nice?

I need some ideas on what to do with the area around my chicken coop it’s practically all dirt there is some grass ( zoysia grass ) plus the dogs run around the coop which tears up the grass. I am stuck on what to do

maybe something like these stepping stone/gravel paths...

  I'd do pea gravel and stepping stones leading to the chickens. Maybe some large potted plants sitting in a wagon. And I'd plant a tree too. Grow some tough turf further out.
