How do I get latex paint drops and smears off a hardwood floor?

This hardwood floor is in my livingroom. It had we to wall carpeting on it for years. I got rid of the carpet and pad to discover a nice hardwood floor. It has spots here and there of white latex paint. Would love to remove the white paint drops and some smears.

Try rubbing alcohol, not sure if it will work if it’s in the grain of the wood. DO NOT use nail polish remover! If it’s latex which is like acrylic the alcohol should do it.

  • You can also try a plastic scraper if it’s on the surface.

My best suggestion is to have a package of baby wipes with you when you are painting! The wipes are literally magical and wipe up the paint every time - a thousand times better than paper towels or rags. I never use drop cloths when I paint...so I promise, this has saved me SO many times!

If the paint has hardened already, use your fingernail and "scrap/chip" it up. ... again, I know from experience, lol! Good luck!
