Sorry I put my other question in the answer part. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions answer I am the single dad. Trying to add some value to my double wide. So I can refinance my house. One of the reasons I am trying to refinance. Is I need a new roof. If I new how to add some pictures . My house is on 5 acres of wooded land. Its almost 2k square feet. 2x6 exterior walls it also has the northern insulation. I live in North Carolina. cathedral ceilings 3 bedroom 2 bathroom . But it has the vinyl covered sheet rock with those strips. Makes it look cheap. I am thinking about putting up 1/2" sheetrock to cover that up. But I have to keep the cost low. Thanks

Tim, you can remove those ugly plastic strips and use 1/4" drywall instead of 1/2". We've done this and if you pay careful attention to detail with the drywall finish, it looks amazing.

I was also going to suggest 1/4 inch sheetrock. Spruce up you kitchen and bathrooms. Some curb appeal will help (even though you're on 5 acres). The value of the land will help. This article may help give you ideas on what to do.
