  I did think of it but they are 92 and 93. I thought about attaching bedroom to my house with bathroom included. Shower and not bath tub. Don't think mother inlaw suite would be feasible.

  Yes probably. The zoning and planning dept in your municipality will need to approve it. If you don't, you run the risk of getting the jobsite shut down if they find out.

  Your biggest challenge will be the plumbing and the Hvac. These can be tricky to tie in to an existing structure. Those are generally the parts your building department will be most concerned about since they have a direct impact on the health and welfare of occupants in the household and even the community (water/sewer requirements)

Most of them that I have seen have been done by converting the attached garage, or by adding to the back of the house by opening an entrance from a dining rm.

You would need an architect, contractor, and plumber. Must meet building codes. Permits would need to be pulled, inspections, etc.
