How can I get rid of the tree stump?

First use stump killer, then you can burn it out with charcoal if it's not close to the house. Finish up with stump out. It's not immediate, but it should do the trick in about a year.

We dig out the middle of the stump. Sometimes it can be done with a pick axe, and shovel. Or my Hubby has used the chainsaw to cut out the center of the stump. But either way we fill in this hole with dirt, and turn it into a planter for my summer flowers. Usually it doesn't take long for the stump to rot away, usually a year or so, depending on what type of tree was there. And we have something pretty to look at, and a reminder so we don't hit it with the lawnmower, while the stump is there.

Stump out is a Low Grade Dynamite that will enable swift removal. Use precautions and follow directions.

Why don't you put a planter on it , or try to make it decorative ?

There are products that you can sprinkle on the stump periodically to help it decay naturally faster, but it will take a long time. You could try and pull it out too: first, cut as many of the large roots on the surface (if there are any) that you can see, get a bunch of people over for a dig out party and dig around the stump deep as possible; then, try pulling the stump out with chains and a piece of heavy machinery like a front end loader or a skid steer; not sure I'd want to hook up a chain to a pick-up truck like I've seen done on home improvement shows! Bad things can happen if not done correctly - like an upside down pick-up truck. You can find information at various sites on the internet as well as Youtube videos. The key is to get as many roots cut, especially underneath the tree and all around it, as possible.

Years ago I had a tree stump in my back yard that needed gone....First I drilled some holes in it so water would seep down and eventually rot it. Then I piled dirt on top and planted some annual flowers. Everyone admired my pretty "raised" flower bed. I had the flower bed there for about three years and when I took the dirt off, the stump had rotted and was so easy to pull away. The neighbors were disappointed that I didn't have the flower bed there....one day I looked out and there in the middle of my raised flower bed was a rabbit happily chewing on one of my flowers. If your stump is in the right place, you could try making a flower bed....my stump was cut down to the ground ...about two inches sticking out of the ground.

I answered this in your other post.....If you are not in a hurry....cut the stump down to within two inches of the ground, and drill some deep holes in the middle of the stump (top) so water will get down in there and rot it out.....Will take a while, meanwhile, make a garden like I did, or set one or two or three flower pots on top of the stump until it rots.
