Metal butterflies... what to do?

Rachelle Morris
by Rachelle Morris
I found these awesome metal butterflies and would love some ideas as to what to so with them. I am making over a girls room right now for two of our daughters ages 8 and 5. They love butterflies. I am going to be having a bunch of paper butterflies on a wall for some art. As I was going through stuff I have collected, I found these and would love some ideas as to what to so with them. They wanted their room pink and purple so that is what it is. I am also doing a large feature wall and onto an adjoining wall a huge painting of the truffula trees (from the Lorax). Any ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance!
Metal butterflies... need ideas please!

I would spray in colorful colors, making them fun for your daughters. These should perhaps be the main attraction surrounding them with your paper butterflies. Good Luck sounds like you'll be busy, post after pictures, I would love to see how it turned out.

Spray paint them white...I think a fresh coat of white paint makes everything look fresh and modern.

These are cute! I would jewels in openings, mirrored ones, lace dollies, fabric lace, colored fabric to match room color, they would also look good around the corner of a mirror, attach a large paper clip to the small one to use as a paperclip holder

I would paint them white as suggested by Emily, then let the girls glue Purple, pink and clear glass beads on the edge of the wings over the round holes. Then tear drop shaped ones on the tails. Most little girls like pretty jewels.

I would leave them just like they are and suspend them at different heights from the ceiling on fishing line that would become invisible. Then any number of things could be added to enhance the grouping.

Sorry- the dresser mirror or bed post or lamp shade, just like they might do if they were real and flew in the window. If their room is pink and purples I might paint them silver and put a few "jewels" on them but not lose the fact that they are butterflies, and not heavy jewelry.
