Make a Clipboard Pretty With Wallpaper Scraps
I have so much leftover wallpaper scraps from wallpapering a hallway. The paper is lovely and I hate to throw it away. So I've been looking for ways to use it.
I've been on an organizing kick and while cleaning my desk, I found a boring clipboard that I knew could benefit from some pretty paper. And a project was born.
If you don't have a million clipboards laying around your home, they can be bought very inexpensively, typically in packs of 3 for less than $10.
Start by tracing your clipboard onto the paper.
Cut a little smaller than the lines you drew.
At the top, mark where the clip part goes and cut a slit in the middle, then along the line you drew to form a T shape. (The paper will slip around the clip.)
Dry fit the paper and fold or mark it around the clipboard so that you know where to cut.
Carefully cut out that part and dry fit it again. It might take a few tries to get the paper to fit. (If you cut it a bit too small, that's okay. It doesn't really show.)
Once you're happy with the fit of the paper, apply a thin layer of decoupage glue to the clipboard and press the paper down. Don't forget the area up by the clip as well.
Since the paper is so thick, those small areas needed help laying flat. So I sat something on top of them while the glue dried.
Let the glue dry for a few hours and your clipboard is ready to use!
If it gets heavy use, you can always decoupage the front of it too. Just add a thin layer of glue and let it dry.

Hi, it looks great. I have been wanting to do this with scrapbook paper for some time. What has delayed me is working around the clip. once the modge podge is applied, how do you hold the clip up, so that it doesn't stick, or interfere with the surface of the board until the board is dry?
