Barn doors - color? stain? natural? help!

My husband made me a paneled wall with a sliding door. The house is all logs inside and I want to decide on a finish but can't pull the trigger.

    I would stain and varnish it to match the rest of the house. In a cabin made of logs, you cannot have too much wood! BTW - great job your hubby did!

    I personally would paint it to brighten things up a bit. How about red? Not too bright, but something that goes with your décor.

    Thanks, I think red sounds nice. I did get some red yesterday. Strawberry. We are going to test it on a few boards and see how it goes.

      @Joyce Sobczyk Good luck! I think it will look great. You could even go with a few different shades of red on the same door. I've seen it done on a pallet wall and it looked fantastic.

    I would stain to match...but...I would add some art flair by stenciling a pattern (like the large dandelion from cutting edge stencils) across them before you stain that when the glue is removed (rolled off) you will have a design in natural wood color....just my thoughts : ) beautiful doors!

    I agree with Kelly. But I would start with red paint and then maybe a different color on top. A green or blue. Or, start with a blue and cover with an olive. Sand slightly to show red under coat. A color you like on top. Or paint black and then white over, using sand paper to bring out the undercover. you can do this without using chalk paint. I have done it many times. Or give Chalk Paint a try. I got a small test jar of blue and white at Lowe's. Test jar cost me over 8 bucks, so you decide. Do a small section, so you can sand it off if you don't like it.     I would go with the same stain as ur walls. Plus I might add some faux logs on it to get the log room look when closed.

    I would go with the same stain as your walls or paint them white.
