Can anyone help me figure out what this plant is?

My daughter gave me this plant when it only had like 4 little leaves on it. She said that the person who gave it to her said it was an elephant ear. I’m thinking that it isn’t. The leaves are huge and it has been sprouting out thick roots from everywhere above the dirt growing towards the dirt.

Spilt leaf Philodendron/Monstera deliciosa/the ceriman, is a species of flowering plant---- Do not let your pets eat it Ceriman toxicity symptoms can include irritation of mouth, throat & nose, excessive drooling, gastrointestinal discomfort & diarrhea ; those are aerial roots(normal) I have one that is 42yrs old(yep that's right) it's huge and beautiful-yours looks healthy, they need really bright light, really dry between watering then water well, I give mine water soluble miracle grow fertilizer 1x year beginning of our winter(n. hemisphere) which is their growing season(they grow year round but more this timeof year in Tropics) it's best to keep it root bound it will produce more leaves, good drainage so roots don't rot, you can cut off aerial roots but it'll just grow more I just wrap mine around the pot, they grow in jungle up in trees in organic matter like Orchids so the aerial roots help them hang on to trees.mine has only been transplanted few times now in 18" pot, there are many varieties and cultivars some are vining some aren't mine is not if it's vining and gets way out of control you can cut it off just use something really sharp
