Stairway Landing Makeover

I bribed my kids to go to Homegoods with me today and saw this great mirrored, distressed wood chest of drawers. I loved it and thought it might work at the top of our stairs and I was right! It's perfect.
You can see that it wasn't a huge space and I didn't want anything that would block the flow of traffic from our master to the stairs and the kids side of the floor.
I quickly decorated it with a few things I had lying around the house and will probably play with styling it, but I love how it looks for now.
The wood is a little lighter than the color of our floors and is whitewashed. It really looks great next to the mirrors.
Here is view from our office out into the hallway. I am tempted to put a runner in this hallway but not sure. I love the look of the wood too.
I love how it gives a cozy feeling to the space.
Here is how the space looked just after I painted stripes on it a few months ago.
The view from the stairs looking up at the landing.
And here is how it looked last fall when the house was under construction.
You can see where the door to our master bedroom was added. It used to be a window to the backyard.
And again-how it looks today! A quick and easy makeover for the landing.
