Gold Monogram Vintage Plates

The Sweet Escape
by The Sweet Escape
For those that like a modern twist on traditional style, here's a fresh way to repurpose vintage plates into customized art for your kitchen or a fab housewarming gift for the eclectic vintage style lover in your life.
Mixing and matching vintage plate patterns really makes this a unique piece and also a great way to use random plates!
Before - a group of pretty but random plates.
This DIY uses gold leaf and a stencil but you could also experiment with gold marker or spray paint.
Spell out something for your kitchen or just one letter as a gift for someone special, which would look great in a girl's bedroom or office space. There's so many possibilities to customize!

I like the idea, but I'd do a pretty script letter in gold leaf and smaller...the large BLOCK letter is HARSH in my opinion.

My aunt collected odd, gold rimmed dessert plates for my mother just for use for cake or pie for 'sisters' birthdays. Can't wait to pull a few of them out & do something with them. Love this idea as a way to remember the fun times we used the dishes to prettify the party. With 4 sets of dishes, just culled one set to Goodwill, we just do not get out different dessert plates [except we have exactly 4 Blue ridge Pottery soup/salad bowls we use all the time for s/s along side sandwiches.]
