Fertilizing: Hydrangeas do especially well when fertilizers are effectively used in spring or early summer. We recommend using a granular, slow-release fertilizer with a high percentage of phosphorus (the middle number in the NPK ratio). Phosphorus is the element that encourages bloom production.

Hello -are you looking to change the blossom color?
The pH of the soil that determines the flower color—specifically, whether or not the hydrangeas are taking up aluminum from the soil. If the flowers are pink, the plant is getting aluminum. If they’re blue, it isn’t.
You can control the color by altering the pH.
Soil testing can determine your pH.
Acidic soil, with a pH lower than 6.0, yields bluish hydrangea blooms. Alkaline soil, with a pH above 7.0, promotes pinks and reds.
pH between 6 and 7, the blooms turn purple or bluish-pink.
To lower your soil pH, add garden sulfur or aluminum sulfate to your soil.
To raise the soil pH, use ground lime.
Thanks so much
I like to apply Holly Tone to my hydrangeas, sprinkled around the drip line of the shrub and worked into the soil, then water in. Apply once in spring, and then again in fall at half strength. Holly Tone is organic and won't burn your plants.
