How can I add outdoor decor?

I would plant a dwarf lilac bush to the left (in the middle of that space) making sure you come out far enough from the fence to have room to grow. Maybe some hydrangeas in the right corner and along the house under the window to the rain gutter.

You could splurge and put some higher end greenery that is fake but looks real. Some of the products are amazing immitators.

I would paint the urns a bright color, either the color of the shutters or a bright blue. You add a garden globe, if you don't want to water plants.

I would paint the urns the color of the shutters then gather some new branches/twigs and spray paint them black, gray, white, sliver and gold. You could also hang a wreath on the gate with some coordinating colors..

I would ditch the urns, faux paint the walk to look like flagstone and hang a beautiful wreath with lots of color on the gate. I would also hang some sort of weather friendly art or hanging plants on the larger portion of the fence.

There are also lots of flowering plants and greenery that prefer shaded areas, large plastic pots can be found at Lowe’s in different colors and they last years. If you love real plants and flowers and don’t mind the maintenance, I would do something tall on each side of door, such as a bird of paradise or a palm and put some greenery or flowers around it in pot. Just those alone can be very eye catching. Artificial look can also be done same way. A water feature off to the side would also be pretty

I like the paint the walkway idea , also I would do an outdoor wall mural of plants and flowers on the entire fence , add a bench under the window, paint the urns and turn them into small tables one on each side of the bench, just have fun with it, good luck

I would look for an old metal headboard for the fence and then place a bench in front of it. As for the other walls you could place some ornamental garden type things. You need some contrast and color so you can paint out the urns to a black or other bright color and then add some artificial grasses to them. Once you start, you will think of all kinds of things you like.

Place a couple more planters with colorful flowers such as reds or oranges to brighten the space. It looks like you have a huge rock in the corner. If you could get this removed it would be an ideal spot for a nice shrub.

Urns - you could move the urns to the right of the walkway, placing one on a 2"- 3" paver as a riser. Fill with globe shaped evergreens, such as boxwood or whatever suits you and your climate. You could also opt for replaceable seasonal pots of bloom. I would add two shutters, the same color as your existing shutters and slightly shorter than your fence, on either side of gate. Then you could center the pots in front of the shutters. With the color behind them they would "POP". The gate itself needs something. You could add a wooden arbor, either curved-top or squared off top (again, whatever suits the rest of your architecture), just make sure it is wide enough to span your entry step. Stain/paint it to match your house's trim color (white/gray hard to tell from photo?) this will also blend with the existing concrete walkway. This would give this entrance more importance and make it a focal point in this area of the yard.

I would add some evergreen bushes to the left area, to help shape it and make it year round attractive, perhaps a small specimen tree or taller shrub in back corner (if there is a corner off to the left - hard to tell from this photo) and then place a small bench in a style that complements your style, in the front of this planting, close to the walkway. This would be an attractive and low maintenance entry. If the arbor and landscaping is too much of an investment at this time, after all, you did just ask what to do with the urns - lol - you might consider adding some sort of open work, arched trellis at the top of the gate. Something like a half of a wagon wheel - just to give you an idea of shape/design. You could stain this to match fence.

If you just want to keep it simple, add those matching shutters to the fence to "frame" those urns - their light color goes with the walkway and brings some brightness to the area. If you can't get matching shutters, consider wood trellis from lumberyard, cut to size, painted/stained to match existing shutters and mounted on fence, either side of gate. You could even use them to train vines on and create an arch of vines growing on dark colored pvc you could bend over the gate, sorry, here I go again.....Good Luck on whatever you do

Paint the pots red like the shutters and find some bushy artificial greenery to put in the pots. If you want to water plants then put in real ones. Is the gate and fence painted grey like your house? If you want to brighten it up, you could paint the fence/gate the color of your white trim.

I'd put real plants in the pots. There are many beautiful evergreens that are dwarf, so you wouldn't have to constantly be changing out your plants. I don't know where you are, but even azaleas can be kept in pots.

Plant some hostas along the fence and add some planters with some color, I’d go for orange and white mix.

I'd paint the fence same color as the shutters to brighten the area. Get rid of the urns. They look out of place. Plant some low flowering bushes along the fence. A nice landscape bock or paver boardering the walk will make it look larger.

If you liked the look before, then why not just repaint them?
