Unlike wallpaper where you would need multiple costly panels, are reusable so you only need to use ONE stencil to make an entire wall entirely gorgeous. That’s crazy but true! So, without further ado, here is your complete guide to painting a wall with wall stencils. Watch and learn how to stencil a wall pattern without using wallpaper below!

Supplies:

  • Mandala Fusion Stencil from Royal Design Studio Stencils www.royaldesignstudio.com
  • Latex paint in your favorite colors
  • Painter’s tape
  • Bubble level

Step 1: Place and secure the wall stencil with painter’s tape. We recommend starting the first repeat at the top center of your feature wall. Use a bubble level to make sure the wall stencil is straight.

Step 2: Load a stencil brush with your first paint color. Then offload the excess paint from the brush onto a paper towel. This offloading technique helps ensure the paint is evenly dispersed onto the stencil brush, you are using minimal paint, and prevention of paint bleeding under the stencil.

Step 3: Stencil a few elements of the design with light to medium pressure and in a circular motion.

Step 4: Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 for each of the other paint colors.

Step 5: Remove the wall stencil and reposition it to the next repeat. There are built in registration marks on the wall stencil so that you can perfectly and easily align it.

Step 6: Repeat Steps 2 through 5, working up, down, and side to side to completely stencil your feature wall with pattern. And that’s it! Now you’ve got a beautifully stenciled wall with a colorful mandala wallpaper-like pattern!
