I'm going to have a garden this year, I have not had a garden for many years. What is the best time to start preparing the area for planting? 🤔

As soon as you can work the ground

When your ground is thawed you can begin working on preparing the area.

When the ground has thawed, clear your space and start working it. If you live in the South where it doesn't freeze, you can also start in the fall. I usually turn my soil once then and then once before I'm ready to start seeding in the spring.

When last frost has passed, prepare your garden. I am in zone 9 and already have my first round of tomatoes in the ground. Chives, sage and rosemary are coming back to life. Parsley is growing like a weed. We have a couple storms blowing in and after that I will go out and plant the seedlings that I started indoors in January.

I don't know what zone I'm in, but I like the idea of starting seedlings first. Thank you so much for your feedback!😊
