How can I brighten up my outside entryway?

The entryway leading to our front door is very dark. There is too much dark brick.

The garage wall is one side, and the house wall is on the other side, making it

closed in on those sides...I have thought about erecting white lattice over the bricks...Our front door is white with a pretty wreath.

Hi Anon, have you considered painting the walls lighter? Adding plants, and solar motion sensore lights for night time illumination.? Maybe?

  Nice ideas, Marie. Thank you. I would love white bricks, but would the paint last, and would look strange given the rest of the house?...Most of the area does not get the sun...What is there to know about painting bricks?

All fantastic ideas! Lighting helps too. Upgrade the porch light and if the area gets sun, add solar lighting too.

Add an outside netted curtain lights to the dark wall.
