Miracle grow is used to give the plants nutrition that the soil is lacking so yes it can help with new growth in that sense. However, if there is a specific plant that needs help, it would be a good idea to look up what nutrients that plant needs then test your soil to see if that nutrient is lacking. Hi Rhonda, they do make fertilizers for specific type of plants, I attached a link for you. Myself I use that stuff on everything in the yard, perennial, annuals, trees, shrubs ornamental grasses, etc. I just use the original.
