How do I fix laminate cabinets?

That's not laminate, it's the plastic film they use. Try reg glue and tape down with painters tape until dry

I wouldn't use tape to hold dry with this stuff though because it will just glue the tape as well. Maybe staple it down while its drying?

It is laminate. You can buy iron on laminate strips in rolls at Home Depot and Menard's. Remove the bad laminate. Lay the strips down over the particle board. Use an iron on low heat and iron the new strips down. Keep the iron moving so not to burn or melt the new strips. It will be wider than the door so use a sharp razor knife to cut it even. A simpler solution would be to remove the bad laminate. Prime the particle board with Kilz prime and paint.

I agree with William, it is laminate and it does come in sheets, thin stirps for the edges, even wide enough to replace the top. I did that years ago in my old house, and it held up rather nicely until it was remodeled. Like he said just be cautious, not sure but when I used it back then, I had separate glue to lay down to adhere, it but he sounds William is saying, as if the glue is already on the underside, and needs to be heated. Good Luck. It is a lot cheaper doing it that way than it is to just replace the whole counter top, but then again, if you have a reuse it place near you, check them out they are very reasonably priced, and you could perhaps have your whole counter top replaced with something newer for a fraction of the cost of new.

You can use rubber cement on both sides wait until dry and push back into place.

I had a white cabinet that I just needed to use a warm iron and the white finish was reapplied along the edges.

Is it just the flat outside edge of the shelf that’s damaged? I ask this because you can buy replacements edging- I’ve replaced that you apply with an warm iron.

I think the best thing to do is buy some laminate strips at the hardware store and replace, because gluing may not last. If you want to try glue, I love Loctite, it glues anything down.
