There is no reason you can't have produce in your flower garden, most of the plants are attractive on their own. Miracle grow is a fertilizer, or bags of soil. When you plant any veggies in the flower garden, just make the hole a little larger than needed and mix in the miracle grow soil in with the existing soil so the roots have healthy soil to get a good start. Don't foliar feed your vegetables, if you foliar feed your flowers, you will get great green plants but not much produce, they need their fertilizer in the soil only. I use an extended release granular tomato/veggie fertilizer that lasts three to four months depending on the brand, make sure you use a good one, like Miracle Grow, or one of the bigger named brands. I used to use regular water soluble miracle grow on my veggies soil until they came out with the tomato/veggie fertilizer, so you can still use the original multipurpose in jugs to fertilize the soil.
