How do you plant ranunculus bulbs so squirrels won't eat them?
Ranunculus and anemone bulbs are planted close to the surface. Is there any way to protect them from squirrels?
Make sure the soil is loose so they can expand then you can plant them about every 2 inches apart? and just below the surface about an inch with the flat bottom that has tiny roots on them down You did not say if you wanted just small ones like sliver onions with the green tops or bigger ones.Bigger ones you wait until the tops flower then bend them over and the water will go into the onion instead of the green tops and get bigger.
dig hole, put some organic fertilizer in hole, set onion with root side down, (white hairy side), cover with good dirt. water, let grow, water, let grow, when the green parts turn brown, dig up gently, and wala, you have an onion.
