How can I replace lights in my vaulted ceiling kitchen?
We have a vaulted ceiling in our great room. The living room areas has no lights and there are 4 sets of track lighting and one hanging chandelier on the kitchen side. The ceiling height is approximately 14 feet high. I am looking for options that would provide excellent lighting. The house is 21 years old and I do not think there is room to put in pot lights. Any suggestions for us to have a well lit room?

We have a vaulted ceiling. Ended up buying sconces at Lowes (3 actually). They are on the same light switch so when you flip the switch they all come on. With some medium wattage leds (about 30 watts) they put off plenty of light. That way they provide a lot of light at eye level and not concentrated on the ceiling. Also put up a ceiling fan that has a light. This provides the overhead light needed and the sconces provide light a eye level.
You can buy LED battery-operated lights that have a remote control switch. No wiring is required and The LED and batteries last a long time.
The new shallow integrated LED recessed lights do not need the ceiling depth like the old pot or can lights did. As they do not give off any heat, they do not require the housing or insulation that formerly was
necessary. Install a dimmer switch for maximum versatility in changing the intensity of light according to room activity, time of day, and season.
