Yes & No..... you can plant them in Spring but they won't produce the flowers(they will grow only green tops) until the next Spring. Tulips need planted in Fall to produce flowers that will come up in Spring. As long as you can dig in the ground you can put them in it. As long as the ground is not constantly wet so they rot they will be fine(good drainage). Here are some Spring time Bulbs & Tubers that can be planted in Spring that bloom all summer into fall, however they need to be dug up and saved each winter because they will not survive the ground feeze. Oriental Lilies,Asiatic Lilies,Crocosmia,Freesia,Canna,Hardy Begonias,Dahlias,Bletilla(Chinese Ground Orchids) Where you are at, plant beginning of June they grow fast you'll have lots of color until they die back naturally in fall then collect and save them

  • Uplips are generally planted in the fall for spring flowering. You can certainly try, but do not be disappointed if nothing happens this year.

They should have been planted in the fall. I've wondered if placing the bulbs in the fridge for a few days or a week would feel like winter to them. Works with grass seed to get it to start growing quicker when planted. Try a few. You have nothing to lose.
