How much compost vs regular dirt should I use?

I have a 4x4 garden spot, and a "pallat" garden. Over the years I've added kitchen scraps to my dirt pile, and have pretty good compost. should I buy commercial dirt, or just use my home made compost?

You don't want to use just "dirt". There are no nutrients in top soil to help your plants grow big and strong and healthy. Your compost, added to your soul should help your existing soil a lot. If you don't have enough to add the amount you really want to add in, you could add the remaining amount with potting or garden soil that is good quality that you could find at any garden center. Good compost beats out most purchased soils anytime. If you don't think you have enough compost, mix the compost into the other soil you add so that all the gardens you have get some of it.

equal parts dirt pile/top soil-organic compost-potting soil ; so if you don't have enuf buy what you need buy some earth worms to throw in your soil mix after you have planted.
