How to prune a Poinsettia Stem?

We have a Poinsettia we got in December. A couple weeks ago one of the stems flowers just wilted all of the flowers on it. There are 8 stems of flowers on this plant. We cut the wilted flowers off just under the flowers. How far down on the stem should we cut it to produce more flowers on that stem?

I cut mine down to where there are 4 leaves on a stem, Debbie. I put it outside for the summer and trim it again, but not as far back. When September arrives, it goes in the dark for 12-13 hours a day.
The plant most likely will not get more red brackets. The little yellow centers are the flowers, not the red leaves. The poinsettia plants grown for December's sales are forced in dark areas for a period of time to turn red at Christmas.
