Those small bathroom fans just can't keep pace with a steaming hot shower. The only way to prevent the steam would be to take cold showers. Leaving the doors open helps. I keep a Swiffer mop with microfiber cloth attached to wipe down the walls real quick when I finish showering.

Put in a higher CFM fan, 80 CFM minimum. make sure the fan vents through the attic to outside, via a duct.

Make sure the duct is fully attached and not perforated.

Spend and extra $20 and buy a lower Sones rating in the new fan.

It happens! Install a better exhaust fan, crack a window, even a portable fan will work. Let it fun for at least 20 minutes after showering.

Even with a higher capacity fan, you may need to get used to wiping down ceiling and walls after showers. Use a fabric water repeent shower liner rather than a plastic one. Use only linens that never see fabric softener. As advised, run the fan during showers and then set the timer to continue to run the fan at least 20-30 min. following end of shower.

When is the last time you removed the grill on the fan, and given the entire fan housing a thorough vacuuming and cleaning?

Do you live in a climate zone that is very humid? If so, I would advise to purchase a dehumidifier for the home, and place it near the bathroom.
