How can I remove privacy film from my windows?
When I purchased my bungalow it had privacy film on the conservatory windows that I now wish to remove but find it is totally bonded to the glass. I have tried to scrape it off with a razor but it is seemingly impossible to remove. Unfortunately because of this I am left with ragged edges that look terrible. Does anyone know of a fix to rid me of the awful stuff? I would love to hear any suggestions on how to achieve this. Thanks for reading!

Ammonia OR vinegar should dissolve the glue.
Have you tried "generously " spraying the film with water (maybe add a touch of soap) and pulling it at an angle. The film is usually applied to very wet glass and is pressed in place. No glue is applied. Best of luck!
I have these also, and they are a pain, as it is like having a mirror on all my kichen windows. Seriously i dont mind looking at my self to put face creams on or brushing teeth but thats about it. I dislike the film! I have used a few things, metho worked ok, peppermint oil was ok, both together works great! Basically melts the adhesive and than cleans it off. Can take awhile depending on the film.
I am assuming yours is attached with an adhesive. I would suggest using a hair dryer to soften the film attachment so you can get under it to peel it off. After removing the film, try using nail polish remover on a rag to dissolve/remove the adhesive.
Heat gun and a razor scraper works on some, then Mineral spirits to dissolve the glue the window cleaner
With a hair dryer on low heat. Keep it 1 to 2 inches from the film. It is also good to use on applecares and sticky tape.
a drugstore bottle of 90% alcohol works to dissolve the glue. Use along with a single edge rasser.
If you are going to use a scraper razor blade make sure it stays wet or you will end up with scratches on the glass. I know because I did it dry and it scratched it just taking little stuff off of glass.
