My garden grasses collapse and dont stay vertical. Do i need to feed them something? Is my garden soil lacking some mineral?

Hi Mary. Are you pruning your grasses every year? I prune mine down to approx 6 inches every Fall. They stay vertical all Spring and Summer. I also use a mix that I make myself. I dilute one Tablespoon of Epson Salt in a gallon of water. This puts enzymes in the soil and my plants thrive with it. I recommend this for you. Good luck Mary.

If the grass is less than three years old, make sure the grass has at least six inches of mulch and good soil for the roots to grow in. Also, Cindy, if this is an area which floods easily or drains very quickly, you may need to add good mulch, then a layer of small pebbles to hold the soil in place. Not a thick layer, though, so the grass can grow through. Happy Spring!

Get a soil test before adding anything. You can get a good inexpensive one at your County Extension Office. It will tell you what your soil needs or has too much of. Much better than guessing and using something not needed. The know everything about plants and can assist you with your local issues.
