Hi Elvira, some of the best kitchen towels I ever used were made by my husbands grandma Theresa. Her generation just did not waste a thing . Now we call it repurposing. She would take sheets that had worn thin in places and cut them into dish cloths and towels they were the all Cotten kind. They absorbed so well. She would hem them, and sometimes even do some cute embroidery on them. They were nice and big and could be a bib for the little ones or an apron for extra cooks. Brings back great memories of grandmas mapeens ,a dish towel in Italian.

Some of the best kitchen towels I have used were made by grandma Theresa. She was from the time when nothing was thrown out or waisted. Now we call it repurposed. She would use Cotten sheets with thin spots and cut the good spots into towels. She would hem them, maybe do some embroidery on them then put them to work. They were bibs or aprons or covers for food. They also wrapped lunches and oh yes dried dishes they were great

Hi Elvira. I have found that cloth diapers make the best kitchen towels; just use as they come or decorate them. I have several that are over 20 years old and still look and work great. The pre-folded kind also double good as hot pads.
