Like to just wash, clean to ready for painting. Is it greasy? If really bad use TSP.

I wash my painted kitchen cupboards with dishwashing liquid. I just fill up the sink with warm water and add a little bit of dishwashing liquid. You can go over the cupboards again with a new cloth using cold water to remove any traces of the dishwashing liquid. Now your good to go.

I find TSP to be very soapy,,,I clean just about "everything" with a mixture of water and Ammonia, don't get the Ammonia "with soap" get the bottle that just says Ammonia! ...Ammonia is about the only thing that breaks up/cleans grease and doesn't leave a film or has to be rinsed! I mix about 1/8 part Ammonia and the rest water,I keep a spray bottle of this mixture in each bathroom and one in kitchen,,it is especially good on and around the stove to clean the grease, all stainless appliances, but I also use it on mirrors, windows, countertops, walls and doors,my hardwood floors(don't have to rinse after) knobs and handles disinfects too, works great in my Bissel carpet cleaner especially after my dog leaves dirt all over it,,I would test it first in that area though,my carpet is a light cream color and I don't know how it would do on a darker carpet, etc.etc. ..I would not recommend for use on wood' furniture, but patio furniture is OK! ...Sure saves me a lot of money buying all of those other cleaning products,,,,
