Kathi, if you have already painted, you could do a fast gray-wash on the walls. Pick a low gloss medium gray. Use a roller to apply the gray on top of the turquoise. You could also water the gray down by adding a cup of water per quart of paint. This would make a smoother paint that rolls on faster and will cut the time and reduce the turquoise by 16%. A tiny dot of black exsperiment with a small bit in a paper cup till you get the color you want add black to it a drop at a time
Add white paint or a drop of black. Either one will tone it down.
Have you already painted? Then use a Faux finish such as sponge painting or dry brushing in a lighter or darker color to create an effect.
