When I added a white farmhouse sink to our recent kitchen renovation, I got a lot of questions about it. “Are you nervous to live with a white sink?” “How do you plan on keeping it clean?” “Would you still choose a white sink, knowing what you know now?!”

These are all valid questions and ones that ran through my head at some point or another. But luckily, I've figured out a way to keep my farmhouse sink clean, sparkling, and free of stains.

You can definitely notice "splash" marks of food stains when you rinse a plate or do normal kitchen duties in a white sink. But these marks usually go away once I rinse the sink out with our pull-down faucet.

So my first tip is to rinse the sink down immediately and not let anything sit!

To keep the sink looking extra white, I do take precaution once a week or so with one of my favorite cleaning supplies...a magic eraser.

I wet this magic eraser and give the sink a good scrub every week. This keeps the sink free of stains, discolorations, and soap build-up.

For extra reinforcement, I use soft scrub with bleach...a product my mom (nicknamed the "Clean Queen") swears by! This keeps my sink perfectly white and pristine. This is a monthly occurrence.

So between my daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tips...my white farmhouse sink looks good as new.

If you're nervous about getting a white farmhouse sink (but love the look!), then check out this blog post. I answer more questions about keeping your sink clean, things to keep in mind before installing, and how to choose the perfect farmhouse sink for you!
