How do I fix the "hole" in my hedge?

The fellow pruning my hedges went a little far and now I have a hole between them. Any suggestions on how to make it look better? Looking at the photo, it's the hole facing the street, not the empty space at the far right. Also, any suggestions on how to landscape this grassy area? I've included a photo of our patio. We live in the Pacific Southwest of B.C. Canada; on Vancouver Island which is quite dry in the summer.

Thanks,

Dawn

The small hole to the right, but not the empty space on the far right.

    Plant a climber or decorate.

For the hedge... It will eventually grow back in. You can get some artificial branches and fill in the holes temporarily. Looks like the grass area is being use as a pathway. You can use pavers, patio blocks and put in a path. The rest of the area would look nice as a planting bed...maybe a water feature.

Yes, don't worry too much about the hedge- the individual plants will eventually grow back in. To 'encourage' them to grow (horizontally) closer together, I would suggest to wire them as tight as you can pull the wire without breakage, then do not cut vertically in-between individual plants.
