What is the best paint to paint tiles with?

Go to a full line pro paint shop and ask them to direct you to the right primer & epoxy paint.

Prep work is essential and ask them if you should take a palm sander to the tile (show them pictures).

They can tint the primer too.

Rustoleum or Homax tub and tile paint kits. Must be epoxy based.

Roberta, there are several out there. More than likely the best type will be solvent based and a thin film. I am not familiar with any water soluble products that will perform outside of epoxy which can be hard to use for a DIYer. I am sure that you can pick some up at any Big Box or Paint manufacture store.
