Hi , are you asking about keeping your home free of termites ? The best way is to avoid giving them the environment they like . They like damp wood . First of you already have termites , you need to have a service come in and treat the area ! Next all damaged wood should be removed and replaced . Do obvious things like fix any leaking water pipes , keep stacked firewood away from your house , make sure your gutters are cleaned regularly and working well , check for Windows that leak .... I live in an area that has high humidity , I had a whole house dehumidifier installed , I have a smaller house and it cost a little more than $2000 , plus my electric bill went up about $12 a month . It was pricey , but cheaper in the long run , than having to deal with the damage termites can cause .

I assume you meant termite proof. Keeping termites out of your home requires several different actions. First call an exterminator - check your local phone book. They will no doubt tent your entire house and use a powerful chemical to destroy any termites living in your walls or furniture. After that there are several different methods to keep termites away from the house and yard, it all depends on what type of termites are in your area. Having a pest control company do periodic checks and spraying is worth the money.

To keep termites away from homes, termite bait needs to be placed in the ground as the termites are subterranian - live underground - and come up to feed - chew on your wood. A commercial exterminator can do this. Make sure the area is dry also as termites like moist wood.
