Use flat paint, wallpaper or repair.

  • You could also just cover it up with large artwork or a tapesty

Fill and sand as much as possible then use heavy duty lining paper, leave a 1-2mm gap between lengths then fill join lines with filler and a putty knife, get it as smooth a possible. Let it dry thoroughly then paint. Shouldn’t be able to see joins and it’s great for hiding imperfections. I live in a pre 1900s house and the walls are really not good so I’ve used this all round and the walls all look like they’ve been completely replastered.

The top half of our master bedroom was wallpapered with a glue that would not come off short of sanding so we painted the top half of the room with textured paint. Very pleased with the result.

Paint a picture over the flaw. A friend painted a pastoral picture to hide the cracks in the wall. The tree covered up the cracks and the picture gave the room a rustic look.
